I came to HomeGoods this Saturday afternoon to return a few items. I had a table runner and two medium sized ceramic planter pots. I waiting in a line that wrapped out way past the normal line waiting area and as I finally (25 minutes later) made it to the cashier I was greeted by a very unpleasant employee named Makala (I think that was her name). As I went up there I explained to the cashier that I purchase the ceramic pots at the Marshalls in my hometown (over and hour away) and assumed this would be ok to return here because I used my store card to purchase the items. The store card has TJMaxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and Sierra Trading Post logos on it. I was told no she could not return them to which I then asked her to confirm if it's ok with a manager before she tells me it's impossible b/c I have been able to do this in the past and I had waited in line for awhile, so I wanted to be sure of this before I left with out achieving what I set out to do. I was met with... this response from Makala...WELL THAT"S NOT MY PROBLEM LADY as she swiped the gift card to return the table runner and then proceeded to toss the card across the counter at me. Needless to say I was not happy and demanded to speak with someone in charge. An on floor manager came up and diffused the situation, but I will not be using my credit card from this company anymore and I will not be going into this store anymore, bc any company that is hiring people like Makala for customer service positions must be crazy!
The cashier was very persistent to make me donate money. As i said im good she caught and attitud.
I will definitely return.
I've only been to the Kingstowne location once but it's a very nice HomeGoods store.
I found it to be bright, clean and inviting. The store is well-organized and the staff friendly and enthusiastic.
